What does Nootka PAC do?

The main purpose of the Nootka PAC is to act as a liaison between the parents and the school. Across British Columbia, parent advisory councils serve as the official means for parents to be involved in their children’s educational experience.

As such, Nootka PAC meets regularly with school staff to discuss plans and projects for the school. Nootka PAC membership is automatically granted to all parents of Nootka students and all parents are encouraged to attend Nootka PAC meetings where they can make their voices heard and vote on important school issues.

AND…the number one most important role of the Nootka PAC is to fund the crucial school programs that are unfortunately not included in official public education budgets. Many of the educational experiences enjoyed by Nootka students are completely dependent on the fundraising efforts of the Nootka PAC.
